Knights AAU 14U & 13UGirls

The 14U/13U team is forming for 2007-2008. Practices are Mondays and Wednesdays 6-7:30PM at Auburn Middle School. Interested girls born on or after July 1,1992 are welcome at practices. Contact Coach John Nettles: johnnettles@dominionconstructiongroup.com

The Fauquier Knights 13 & Under AAU Travel Girl’s Basketball Team performed extremely well at the U-Turn Warriors Basketball Tournament in Richmond, Virginia held on Saturday, December 2nd.  They won both their games, 2 close games by overcoming deficits in the last couple of minutes of each game.  The first game they won, 41-40, over the Richmond Surge, a team they lost to 2 weeks ago by 15 points.  The second game they won, 54-50, over the U-Turn Warriors Silver Team despite having 3 starters on the bench who had fouled out midway through the second half.     Leading scorers in each game were Jazmyne Moore, Sarah Seligman, Elizabeth Wood, Weslie Bowers and Allison Williams.  Sami Vance, Hailey Nettles, Erica West, Kendall Turbitt and Mary McCulla all provided strong defensive play, ball handling and rebounding at critical points in each game.  Sarah Poole and Dru Martin also contributed solid minutes.   The team consists of eight 13 years olds and four 12 year olds.  There are 6 area schools represented by the players on this team; Auburn Middle, Fresta Valley, Linton Hall, Taylor Middle, St. John’s, and Warrenton Middle.
